Jessica Thompson - she/her

Owner + Program Director

Jessica E. Thompson (Williams) is a certified wellness coach and kettlebell instructor with more than four years of experience in promoting and teaching inclusive wellness to groups throughout Middle Tennessee. With the motto "Wellness Includes Me," she grew a passion for working with spaces to create a sense of belonging for all regardless of race, gender identification, body type, or sexual orientation.

In the last year, Thompson has created a wellness mastermind group and launched Wellness 360 — a holistic wellness program that she has packaged into both a two-day retreat and six-week virtual learning course. With that, it is her mission to educate about deeply rooted racism in the wellness space, its intersectionalities, and how to dismantle said systems. She resides in Nashville with her chef husband Derek Thompson and two sons, Jayden and Elijah.

Elly Brokamp

Elly Brokamp - she/her

Teacher

This Genetic Counselor and movement enthusiast first fell in love with the physical practice of yoga in college. Originally from Cincinnati, Elly has taken yoga with her to Columbus, New York City, Pennsylvania, and finally to Nashville. More than just a personal physical practice, yoga became an avenue to find communities rooted in the pursuit of personal growth. And that is exactly what she found at getFIT615! Elly was immediately drawn to the space at getFIT and the supportive community that fills it.

After taking classes at getFIT615 and experiencing one of Kate and Ruby's Heartfelt retreats, Elly was inspired to complete her Empower School of Yoga teacher training. Elly is dedicated to using the tools she's learned from these experiences to help guide others in movement that makes them feel strong and confident. She believes all movement should put people in touch with their bodies and should be something they want to return to over and over again. She is so thrilled to sweat with y'all!

Allyn Kinney - he/him

Teacher

Allyn is an active athlete, coach, and lover of movement who has been training at getFIT615 since 2019. He first began strength training while playing water polo and has continued to emphasize it as part of his practice for the past 15 years. This includes experience in dumbbell, barbell, and kettlebell movements as well as balance, flexibility, and explosiveness training. He was drawn to getFIT615 by its open-minded and welcoming community, structured classes, and focus on proper technique and theory.

Allyn’s goal as a trainer is to facilitate an experience where everybody and every body can find joy in movement and developing strength. He believes sweating together is meaningful and hopes everyone can experience the supportive getFIT615 community as he has.

Allyn is often joined by his teaching assistant, Mr. Big.

Sarah+Jordan+Welch

Sarah Jordan - she/her

Teacher

Sarah Jordan (yes, two first names) is born and raised in Nashville (yes, a unicorn) and found getFIT615 in the Fall of 2018. Sarah Jordan had been looking for a space that affirmed larger and fat bodies which was not focused on weight loss, diet culture, or fatphobia. As a former college athlete, Sarah Jordan loved working hard, sweating A LOT, and moving her body, but was finding a hard time finding those things in places that also didn’t have all that harmful garbage. Enter getFIT615!

Sarah Jordan is a Licensed Master Social Worker and certified yoga teacher, with a focus in trauma-informed practice and accessibility for all bodies. She has also worked with survivors of interpersonal violence for a decade through work in domestic violence shelters, sexual assault agencies, non-profits, and universities. Sarah Jordan sees her role as supporting folks while they navigate the relationship with trauma and their bodies. Her goal is to provide space for people to explore safety, comfort, and discomfort.

Allison Giehl - she/her

Marketing Director/Community Member

Allison is originally from Cincinnati and moved to Nashville in 2014 seeking a career in the Restaurant, Hotel and Tourism industry. She stumbled upon getFIT615 in January 2016 and never left (classic enneagram 6). She loves sweating, connecting and growing with her getFIT community and couldn’t imagine her life in Nashville without this special basement gym. She is involved in many aspects of the gym, as a Marketing Director, Community Member and Book Squader.

Allison has been in the Restaurant Industry most of her life and currently bartends at Martin’s BBQ Joint downtown. When she’s not doing marketing or moving her body at getFIT615, you can find her running outside, loving her two dogs Charlie and Stevie, in her garden, at a local plant shop, or at a beach somewhere (even if it’s just Anderson Beach at Percy Priest Lake).

She is looking forward to sweating with you!

Kate Moore getFIT615

Kate Moore - she/her

Founder

Kate founded getFIT615 in 2014. She also co-facilitates the Self-Study Program. Kate believes in our inherent interconnectedness and our individual and systemic responsibility to care for each other. She’s a Sagittarius bb + an 8 on the enneagram - you read that right, fire on fire.

Kate encourages students to honor their bodies and appreciate them as they are. She believes that enjoyable movement is vital to our well-being. Our lack of understanding and compassion for our bodies and each other lies in the heteronormative racist patriarchy in which we live. Kate centers growth. Her goal is to foster spaces in which we can be brave together.

Here’s how we got here:

Our doors officially opened October 1, 2014. But the story really began when Kate Moore, owner of getFIT615, decided she no longer wanted to spend a lifetime in pursuit of losing 10 lbs… life’s too short.

Since then, we’ve learned more about oppressive systems that tell us, among other things, that we should be… different than we are. We are aware of diet culture and the harm it causes everybody.

The team has grown since 2014. We have grown into a fitness space in which all bodies - no matter the shape, ability, color, size, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or anything else - feel welcome, invited, and brave.
